American actress and director Penny Marshall has passed away on December 17th, 2018, at the age of 75. She was born October 15th, 1943 in the Bronx, New York. In 1970, Marshall produced and acted in the show, That Girl, which become the first television series to feature a single woman in the lead role. From there, she went on to step behind the camera, director in movies such as Big (1988), A League of Their Own (1992) and Awakenings (1990). Also a producer, Marshall was a pivotal part of the movie industry, becoming the first female filmmaker to direct a film grossing more than $100 million. In addition to her film career, Marshall was also highly accomplished in her private life, having two children, Tracy Reiner and actress Carrie Ann Marshall.
