Paul Shenar, who passed away on October 11, 1989, at the age of 53, was an accomplished actor, director, writer, and producer. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 1, 1936, and moved to Hollywood in the early 1950s. He quickly rose to fame, appearing in numerous television shows and films. He was best known for his recurring role as the notorious mobster Philip Columbo on the hit show Miami Vice (1984-86). He also had notable roles in films such as The Day of the Locust (1975) and The Missouri Breaks (1976). Other credits included acting in Death Wish 2 (1982) and The Stepfather (1987), as well as directing episodic television series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1985-86). He was also an accomplished writer and producer who wrote and produced a television drama series, She's in Charge (1985). In recognition of his accomplishments in the entertainment industry, Paul was the recipient of a Golden Globe nomination in 1985. He will be remembered as an icon of the American entertainment industry. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, and two children.
