Paramahansa Yogananda

Parama Hansa Yogananda was born on January 5, 1893, in Gorakhpur, India. He was one of the first yoga masters to bring yoga and meditation to the United States in the 1920s. He wrote "The Autobiography of a Yogi" which has been translated into 18 languages and remains one of the most popular spiritual books of our time. Paramahansa Yogananda died on March 7, 1952, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 59.
