Olivia Newton-John passed away on 8th August 2022, aged 73. She was a singer, songwriter, actor, environmentalist, entrepreneur and activist. Olivia was born in Cambridge, England in 1948. She and her family emigrated to Australia when she was five. She made her debut as a singer at the age of 16 and had already enjoyed her first taste of success when she achieved the No. 1 single “Let Me Be There” by the time she was 21. In 1978, Olivia unleashed Physical. This album contained her mega hit of the same name, which quickly became her signature song. The follow up album, the GRAMMY-winning Totally Hot in 1980, produced Olivia’s other Top 10 singles, “A Little More Love” and “Deeper Than The Night.” Olivia’s successes didn’t stop at music. She embarked on a successful acting career, starring in many hit movies, including Grease, Xanadu and Two of a Kind. Olivia has since been recognized for her enormous contributions to the world of entertainment and philanthropy. In 1978, she was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). She was also awarded UK’s Outstanding Contribution to Music Award in 2018, and Variety magazine’s “Power of Women” in 2019. Olivia had a passion for helping those in need, and her support of numerous charities was well known. She dedicated her life to making a difference in the lives of others and relentlessly inspired and empowered everyone with her messages of love. Olivia’s memory will be be remembered and cherished forever.
