Nancy Wilson (1937 - 2018), legendary jazz singer and actress, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018 at the age of 81. Wilson's career as a singer began in 1959 with the release of her debut album "Like in Love". Over her more than 50 year career, Nancy Wilson released a total of 59 albums that were enjoyed around the world. Wilson won three Grammy Awards, two NAACP Image Awards, and was inducted into the International Jazz Hall of Fame in 1989. She was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is a member of the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame. Known for her lithe soprano voice and her subtlety in performance, Nancy Wilson was an inspiration to generations of jazz singers and fans alike. Her powerful and unique interpretation of songs from the Great American Songbook as well as original compositions will be fondly remembered by all. She is survived by her four sons and two grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
