Nagesh, an Indian film actor and comedian, passed away on January 31, 2009 at the age of 75. He was known for his slapstick performances and contributed to more than 200 movies and dramas over his long and successful career. Born in Dharapuram, Nagesh started his career in films at age 18. He starred in several Tamil movies and was highly regarded for his comedic style and ability to portray a range of roles, from poor farmers to street urchins. Following his film success, Nagesh also acted in radio and theater plays. He was lauded for setting the standards for comedy in South Indian films and was awarded numerous honors, including the Padma Shri Award from the Government of India. He will be remembered for his remarkable contribution to the art of film.
