Mikhail Bulgakov (1891-1940) died on March 10, 1940 at the age of 48. He was a noted Russian author and playwright, best known for writing novels such as "The Master and Margarita". He graduated from the Mikhailov Medical School in 1916 and served in World War I as a field doctor. After the war, he moved to Kiev and began writing for various newspapers and magazines. He is credited with over a hundred publications, including plays, short stories, and novels. His works are often cited for their strong use of satire while tackling both political and cultural issues. His greatest accomplishments are thought to be the novels "The White Guard" and "The Master and Margarita". Mikhail Bulgakov is remembered as one of the most influential authors in the Russian literary tradition.
