It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Nyqvist on June 27, 2017. He was 56 years old. Michael was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on November 8, 1960. From an early age, he took an interest in acting and theatre. His professional stage career launched in 1981, and he went on to appear in several Swedish films. He gained global recognition for his portrayal of Mikael Blomkvist in the original Swiss films of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy. The first one, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, was released in 2009. He also appeared in several American films, including John Wick, Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol and Frank and Lola. Michael is survived by his wife and two children. His work was an inspiration to many, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
