It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Gambon on September 27th, 2023, at 82 years old. Michael John Gambon, lovingly known as Mike to his family and friends, was born in Cabra, Dublin, Ireland, on October 19th, 1940. He was a celebrated Irish actor most well-known for taking over the title role in the Harry Potter film franchise after the death of Richard Harris. He earned multiple awards and nominations for his hard-hitting performances in each of the seven Harry Potter films, as well as in his other feature films, such as The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Gosford Park, The Shogun's Last Samuri, and Sleepy Hollow. He was also well-known on the stage, appearing in various productions of the National Theatre alongside such stars as Judi Dench and Alan Rickman, as well his much acclaimed performance as King Lear for the Royal Court Theatre., Michael Gambon will be remembered for his passion and dedication for acting, as well as his unique ability to bring his characters to life through his powerful performances. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
