Mel Blanc, 81, beloved voice actor best know for his work in Looney Tunes, died on July 10, 1989. A Portland native, Blanc began his career as a radio comedian in 1929, eventually making his way to Warner Brothers where he created hundreds of unforgettable characters like Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Yosemite Sam and the Tasmanian Devil.
