Meher Baba (died January 31, 1969, aged 74) was an Indian spiritual figure and teacher. He was born into a Zoroastrian family on February 25, 1894 in Pune, India. An early adopter of the philosophy of 'Universal Love', Baba's core message was that of love and humanity. He spent much of his life dedicating himself to helping those in need, travelling to far reaches of the world. He established a non-sectarian 'Universal Spiritual Center' which welcomed individuals of all races, origin, and doctrines, as part of his dedicated pursuit of service and altruism. He founded the Avatar Meher Baba Trust for spiritual and charitable work in the 1960s. In his lifetime, he wrote several books including God Speaks and Discourses. He was also the subject of several publications, such as Meher Baba: The Awakener and Listen Humanity: Love letters from the Compassionate One. Baba was fond of music and founded the music group The Mandali. His instrumental music albums Eruch Wolf in the West and The Eternal Source were released posthumously. His life and teachings had a profound influence on many, leaving behind a rich legacy to be appreciated today.
