On June 26, 2022, our beloved Margaret Keane left this world at the age of 94. Margaret Keane was an American artist who was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee in 1927. She was known for her unique style of painting, originally inspired by her admiration of Bill Armstrong. In the 1950s, she developed her own signature style of creating art by painting wide-eyed children and animals with intense expressions. Her work was seen around the world, from displays in the Honolulu Academy in Hawaii to exhibitions in New York City. A devoted Christian, Margaret Keane was a long-time member of become a member of Belmont Church in her hometown and was a regular contributor to its charitable projects. She is remembered as a beloved wife to the late Walter Keane, as a loving mother to her two sons, as a talented artist, and as a generous, kind spirit. Margaret Keane will be greatly missed.
