Marcel Proust, celebrated French novelist, critic, and essayist, passed away on November 18th, 1922, at the age of 51. Marcel Proust was born in Auteuil, France, in the year 1871, and his talent for the written word was evident from an early age. His breakthrough came with the publication of his debut novel, Swann's Way, in 1913. This was part of his seven-volume work, In Search of Lost Time, which was published in individual volumes from 1913 to 1927. In Search of Lost Time was hailed as the greatest literary accomplishment of the twentieth century and remains one of the most influential works in the Western canon. Proust's works focus on unfinished memories, autoportraits, grief, the meaning of art, religion, and politics. He also wrote extensively on relationships between people of diverse backgrounds and social classes. Proust's works have had a lasting impact on literature. He is remembered for his unique, evocative writing and expansive writing style, and his work has been cited and translated into over 20 languages. His death is mourned by the literary community, and his works continue to be read and studied around the world.
