Indian politician Manohar Parrikar, who died on March 17, 2019 at the age of 63,was widely respected and mourned. Parrikar had a long and successful career in Indian politics and was both the Chief Minister of Goa and the Defence Minister of India. He was known for spearheading the legislative agenda in Goa and was instrumental in many other political reforms. He held several ministerial posts, including two terms as Chief Minister, two terms as Minister for Science and Technology, and from 2014 to 2017, he served as the Defence Minister of India. He was also a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Parrikar's death has been described as a great loss for India and a loss for the BJP. His family and friends said he was a simple, compassionate person who served his country with unwavering dedication. He is survived by his wife and two sons, who remember him as a warm, caring, and passionate father and husband.
