She had international success with her 1976 hit single "Rock Bottom" and represented the United Kingdom in the 1977 Eurovision Song Contest. She was a popular celebrity in the 1970s and had a successful career in music and television. Lynsey de Paul had an extensive music career which included writing and producing chart-topping singles and Gold albums. She also wrote and performed on the internationally acclaimed autobiograhy "Surprise" in 1978 and the related album "Tiger Feet." In addition to her music career, Lynsey de Paul was a popular TV personality and had her own BBC series.
