The world was rocked when news spread that professional basketball player Lorenzen Wright had passed away on July 29th, 2010 at the young age of 34. Wright was an achieved basketball player who began his career in high school and went on to be drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1996. Wright bounced around the NBA for 13 seasons and played for the Clippers, the Atlanta Hawks, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Sacramento Kings, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic. He was known for his defensive play, averaging 1.9 blocks per 48 minutes during his career. Off the court, Wright was a father of six children whom he shared three with ex-wife Sherra Robinson Wright. Wright shall not only be remembered for his extraordinary basketball talent, but also for the love he showed to the youth in his local Memphis community. Wright will be deeply missed by all his family, friends and fans. May he rest in peace.
