Lee Van Cleef, an iconic and enduring presence in cinema, passed away on December 16, 1989 at the age of 64. Van Cleef, a New Jersey native and son of an accountant, began his acting career with a role in the classic western film High Noon in 1952. Van Cleef would go on to become one of the most recognizable faces in the journalism industry, starring in beloved cowboy-themed films such as The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and For A Few Dollars More. He was effortlessly recognizable for his rugged yet iconic look. His deep-set eyes, creased face, goatee, tall stature all made him an unmistakable on-screen figure that captivated audiences. His other on-screen roles include Escape From New York, The Magnificent Seven Ride, and more. Van Cleef was also passionate about fishing, boating, and most of all, his family. He is survived by his three sons, three grandsons, and one granddaughter. His prolific career will continue to bring joy and inspiration to generations of cinema-lovers.
