Lawrence Tierney (March 15, 1919 – February 26, 2002) passed away at the age of 82. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was an actor who had a long and successful career. He began his acting career in 1943 and appeared in several films during the 1940s. Some of his most notable roles include Detective Philip Malinsky in the 1947 film Born to Kill, and gangster Eddie Bartlett in the 1955 film Bad Day at Black Rock. He also had memorable late-career roles in the film Reservoir Dogs (1992) and in the TV series The X-Files (1995–1998). Tierney won multiple awards and recognition throughout his career, receiving the coveted life achievement award at the 2000 Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. Survived by his son, he will be remembered as a successful actor who featured in many classic films throughout the decades.
