LaWanda Page, loving friend and talented actor, passed peacefully on September 14, 2002 at the age of 81. With a career spanning more than 50 years, LaWanda developed a passion for acting early on. After studying at the American Theatre Wing, she moved to Los Angeles in 1956 to focus on her career as an actress. She is best known for her role as Aunt Esther on the sitcom "Sanford and Son," starring alongside Redd Foxx. Her performance earned her the NAACP Image Award and a Golden Globe nomination in 1975. LaWanda spent her life dedicated to bringing joy to both her family and the many fans who loved her work. She will be remembered for her humorous portrayal of Aunt Esther, as well as for her significant contributions to the entertainment industry. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.
