On August 13, 2004, Ko Yong-hui passed away at the age of 52. She was a South Korean film actress and the mother of Kim Jong-un, current leader of North Korea. Yong-hui was born in North Korea in 1952, and moved to South Korea with her parents in the mid-1970s. She met Kim Jong-il, the former leader of North Korea while attending college in Japan, and they had two children together: Kim Jong-un (born 1983) and Kim Yo-jong (born 1987). Yong-hui was a well-known actress in South Korea, appearing in various films and television series. She was well respected in the South Korean film industry and was committed to her work. She is predeceased by her two children Kim Jong-un and Kim Yo-jong and leaves behind her parents and extended family. Ko Yong-hui will be remembered for her passion for the film industry, her devotion to her family, and her strength and determination to stay true to what she believed in.
