Kirsty MacColl, the beloved singer-songwriter and guitarist, passed away on December 18, 2000, at 41 years of age. Born in Croydon, England, Kirsty was a talented musician and performer. She received a Grammy nomination for her 1999 album, "Tropical Brainstorm," and a BRIT Award nomination for her song, "In These Shoes?" She was also well known for her collaborations with The Pogues, and gained fame for being the singer on the duo's track "Fairytale Of New York." Kirsty released several albums throughout her career, including "Kite," "Electric Landlady," and "Titanic Days." Her lyrics were playful, clever and sharp, and her music was a combination of folk, rock, pop, and traditional Irish music. Kirsty's legacy continues to live on. She will be remembered for her passionate and unique style of music, and her remarkable talent, which touched a great many.
