Ken Miles, a talented race car driver and engineer, passed away on August 17, 1966, at the age of 47. He was born in Sutton Coldfield, England and immigrated to the United States when he was 15. He began his racing career in California and went on to compete in some of the most iconic races in motorsport history. He won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1966 and was runner-up in the 24 Hours of Le Mans later that same year. He also achieved success as an engineer, having worked on the car that went on to win the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. Miles's drive and passion for motorsport was admired by both peers and fans alike. He was respected throughout the racing community for his relentless determination and dedication to the sport, always pushing the boundaries of what was considered possible. Miles was an ambitious and brave driver who did not back down from a challenge. He will be remembered for his legacy of pushing the limits of racing and engineering.
