Kenneth Joseph Howard Jr., known as Ken Howard, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 71. Ken was born on March 28, 1944 in El Centro, California to Kenneth Joseph Howard Sr. and Genevieve Roberts. He attended Amherst College and graduated with double honors in 1966 and went on to attend the Yale School of Drama where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree. Ken was an accomplished actor, known for his work in the 1970s series The White Shadow and for his role as President Ariel Macedon on The West Wing in the 2000s. He was also the president of the Screen Actors Guild (now SAG-AFTRA) from 2009-2012. He received a Tony Award for his role as Tom Healy in the revival of the play, Child's Play in 1975. Ken is survived by his wife, Linda Fetters, his daughter, Emily Doubilet, and his sons Willard and Max Howard. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren. At his request, there will be no memorial services. Instead, the family asks that donations be made to the Connecticut Hospice in his memory.
