Kader Khan, an renowned Indian-Canadian film actor, director, comedian, and screenwriter, passed away on December 31, 2018, at the age of 81. Khan was born on October 11, 1937 in Pishin, Balochistan, which is now part of Pakistan. After earning a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, he relocated to Bombay, India, and began to pursue a career in acting and writing. During his illustrious career, Khan acted in nearly 300 films, and wrote dialogue and scripts for more than 250 films. He worked with some of Bollywood's most renowned actors and actresses, and his work was recognized internationally. Khan won numerous awards for his work, and was inducted into the Filmfare Hall of Fame in 1999. He received lifetime achievement awards for his work in India, Canada and Europe for his contributions to Indian Cinema. Khan's last public appearance was at the launch of his autobiography, “Kader Khan: From Developer to Writer to Actor” in mid-December. Khan is survived by his wife, Hajra, his three sons, and two daughters. He will be remembered for his innumerable contributions to Indian Cinema.
