Judith Love Cohen, a highly respected citizen, died on 2016-07-25 at 82 years old. Born and raised in Washington D.C., Cohen was an avid reader and learner. After she obtained a Bachelor's degree in French Literature from Emory University, Cohen went on to have a successful career in education. In 1955, she married Norman M. Cohen, who preceded her in death in 1988. Her professional journey included positions teaching French, German, and Spanish at schools across D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Her distinguished career spanned over 37 years, with many years spent as a French Teacher at Walter Johnson High School before retiring in 2002. Cohen was renowned by her students and colleagues alike. She had an infectious enthusiasm and was known to stay up late to read newly imported French literature. She set the standards of excellence for her students while providing them with a great example in life. Judith Cohen is survived by her son, two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
