It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Madden, who died on December 28, 2021 at age 85. John was a hall of fame professional American Football coach and commentator. He spent 10 years as an NFL head coach with the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers, leading the Raiders to a Super Bowl championship in XV. He is also well known for his video games, which have sold over 100 million copies, and his fan-favorite Monday Night Football commentary on ABC and ESPN. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and served as an active ambassador for the NFL until his passing. John will be remembered as a decorated leader on and off the field, whose enthusiasm for the game was unparalleled. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his passion for the game, which he shared with all who had the pleasure of meeting him. John is survived by his 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
