It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joey Bishop. He passed away on October 17th, 2007 at the age of 89. Joey Bishop was a renowned American actor, television host, and comedian. He is best remembered for co-starring in The Rat Pack variety show with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford. Joey Bishop was born Joseph Abraham Gottlieb in The Bronx, New York City on February 3, 1918. His family later moved to Philadelphia. He began his career as a nightclub comic before eventually shooting to fame in the 1960s and becoming a national household name. Throughout the course of his career, Bishop also starred in several movies and television shows, including Ocean's 11 (1960), The Joey Bishop Show (1967-1969), and Regis Philbin's The Morning Show (1983-1989). He was nominated for several awards including an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series and two Golden Globe awards. Many will remember him, above all else, for his immense sense of humor and style. Leaving behind a legacy of irresistible charm and wit, he will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
