With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the beloved and legendary Mexican singer and composer, Joan Sebastian, on July 13, 2015 at the age 64. Joan Sebastian's career as a singer and composer spanned four decades, and he was respected and loved throughout Mexico and Latin America for his incomparable talent and passion for Mexican music. He is best known for being the most successful Regional Mexican singer of all time. His musical legacy is extensive. During his career Joan Sebastian released 48 albums, composed 600 songs, and was awarded five Latin Grammy and seven Latin Billboard Music Awards. His poignant lyrics touched and resonated with millions of listeners. Joan Sebastian was a loving father and a devoted friend of many in the music industry. He will be greatly missed by his children, Joan, Julian, Jose Manuel, Zarele, Mary and Kevin Sebastian. He is survived by his seven children and seven grandchildren. May he rest in peace.
