It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jimmy Greaves announce his passing, which occurred on 2021-09-19, at the age of 81. Jimmy was a beloved English professional football player, and was part of the famous Tottenham Hotspur team in the 1960s. Over the course of his 20-year playing career, Jimmy scored an astonishing 357 goals in 517 matches, which made him the highest goalscorer in English football. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time. Jimmy was also an integral part of the England team in the 1966 World Cup, when England won the tournament for the first time. Jimmy will be remembered as a humble and highly-skilled player, who gained a loyal fanbase during his playing days. He was known for his prolific goal scoring, his speed and agility on the pitch, and his leadership skills. He was beloved by both his teammates and his fans, and his influence on English football will always be remembered. Jimmy is survived by his friends and relatives. He will be dearly missed.
