With his deep, captivating voice and powerful lyrics, Morrison quickly rose to fame in the music industry and gained a large fan base. His ambitious and creative spirit would lead The Doors to become one of the most influential bands of all time. Morrison was born James Douglas Morrison in Melbourne, Florida in 1943. He was in the Navy for four years before attending college to pursue a degree in film. After college, Morrison moved to California where he formed The Doors in 1965 with the other members Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore. Morrison and the band released six albums in their career together, and the tracklist included some of the most beloved songs of all time such as "Light My Fire," "The End," and "L.A. Woman." His legacy endures to this day, remembered for expansive compositions and boundary-pushing performances for music fans all over the world.
