Jim Clark passed away on April 7, 1968, at the age of 32. Awarded the title of ‘Champion of Champions’, Jim Clark was a British racing driver who had a profound influence on motorsport. Born in Kilmany, Scotland in 1936, he grew up to become one of the most decorated and celebrated drivers of his generation. His first victory was the Formula Junior Championship in 1959, the start of a long and successful career in motorsport. He won the Formula One World Championships in 1963 and 1965, becoming the only driver to do so in a rear-engined car. He also won the Indianapolis 500 in 1965, and was the first ever Briton to compete in and win the race. He also competed in other international series, including the Tasman Series and various Grand Prix races in Australia and New Zealand, and set lap records on a number of circuits. Despite his incredible achievements, he always remained modest about his success. He was an inspirational figure in the British and international motor racing world, and his legacy will live on for many years to come. He will be remembered for his skill, passion and courage, and for the unique mark he left on the global racing scene.
