It is with deeply heavy hearts and great sadness that we mourn the passing of Jessi Combs, 39 years old, on Wednesday, August 27th, 2019. The “Fastest Woman on Four Wheels”, Jessi was best known for her passion for racing, fearless attitude, competitive spirit, and engineering/fabrication skills which pushed boundaries and shattered preconceived ideas about gender roles. Jessi was an accomplished racer, engineer, drifter, fabricator, Television personality, Public speaker, and an advocate for Women in Motorsport. She was part of and collaborated with a range of companies across the automotive industry, including SEMA, Nascar, Optima Batteries, and The Ford Motor Company. In 2013, Jessi set the women’s World Speed Record, with her Modified North American Eagle Supersonic Speed Challenger reaching a top speed of 398 mph. She returned to the same desert that hosted her milestone five years prior, determined to break her previous record. Jessi was an inspirational figure for many, and her memory will be honored. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends in this time.
