It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Seberg, a beloved American actress. She passed away peacefully at the age of 40 on August 30, 1979. Jean was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on November 13, 1938. Her natural screen presence and talent earned her a part in her debut film Saint Joan (1957) when she was only 18 years old, launching her into the spotlight despite her young age. After appearences in both French and American films, she went on to become an iconic star with leading roles in films like Bonjour Tristesse (1958), Breathless (1960), and Moment to Moment (1965). Aside from her work in front of the cameras, Jean was a passionate activist who became an iconic figure for the civil rights movement in the 60s and 70s. She acted on her beliefs not only with her words, but also with financial support for the cause. Jean Seberg will be remembered as a talented actress and a fearless advocate for justice.
