On June 29, 1967, Jayne Mansfield, age 34, passed away in an automobile accident. She was an American actress, entertainer, and singer. Mansfield was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1933. She first achieved fame while performing as a nightclub entertainer and as a Broadway actress. She went on to become a major Hollywood actress starring in films such as The Girl Can’t Help It, The Wayward Bus, The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw, and Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? Mansfield was a beauty and fashion icon in the 1950s and early 1960s. She was one of the major sex symbols of her day and is still regarded as a cult classic. Mansfield leaves behind three children; a daughter, Mariska Hargitay, and two sons, Mickey Hargitay and Zoltan Hargitay. Her legacy as an actress, singer, and beauty icon will live on in the hearts of her fans and loved ones.
