It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jason Robards announce his passing on December 26th, 2000, at the age of 78. Robards was born on July 26th, 1922, in Chicago, the son of Hope Maxine and Dr. Jason Robards Sr. He attended the University of Washington, before launching his career as an actor. Robards found fame in the theater, with success in roles on Broadway and off-Broadway. He received consecutive Tony Awards for his work in 1962's "Big Fish, Little Fish", and 1965's "The Disenchanted". Robards made a successful transition to film, with notable roles in films such as "A Thousand Clowns" (1965), "Once Upon a Time in the West" (1968), "All the President's Men" (1976) and "Magnolia" (1999). Robards is survived by his children, daughters Laurie Robards and Jessica Robards-Santiago, and his long-time partner, Kathryn (Kate) O'Neil. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.
