Jan-Michael Vincent (1945-2019), an actor best known for his roles in the mid-1970s series "Airwolf" and television movie "The Winds of War," died on 10 February 2019, at 73 years old. A South Dakota native, Vincent studied acting at the California's National Theatre School in San Francisco. His breakthrough role was in the 1972 movie "The Mechanic". He had further success in 1975 with the Naval officer drama "Buster and Billie". Vincent went on to star in numerous major motion pictures, including the cult classic "Big Wednesday" (1978), Sylvester Stallone's "Escape to Victory" (1981), and the comedy "Smokey Bites the Dust" (1981). He was also known for his television roles in the series "Airwolf" (1984-1986) and the 1979 Larry Gelbart miniseries "The Winds of War". As his career progressed, Vincent also had a number of run-ins with the law. He was arrested multiple times due to his substance abuse issues, was charged with domestic violence, and had a long battle with the bankruptcy court. Vincent is survived by his son, Amber, and his third wife, Patricia Ann Christ.
