Isaac Hayes, a renowned singer, songwriter, and actor, has passed away on August 10th, 2008. During his career, he won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, and a Golden Globe. He first gained attention when he created the iconic song “Soul Man”, which was later recognized by the Grammy Hall of Fame. He would go on to create a film soundtrack for the cult classic “Shaft”, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1972. The Grammy Award he won was for the album “Black Moses”, released in 1971. In addition to his career in music, Hayes also starred in films such as “Escape from New York” and “The Sheepman.” In addition to this, he also worked for five years as the narrator for the popular TV series “South Park.” Isaac Hayes was 65 years old at the time of his death. He will be remembered for his immense contributions to music and entertainment. He will be dearly missed.
