Hermann Fegelein

Hermann Fegelein, prominent military officer, died on April 28th, 1945, at the age of 38. Fegelein was born and raised in Ansbach, Germany. He attended the academy for engineering at the University of Munich and graduated with an engineering degree in 1928. Fegelein then enlisted in the German Army, beginning a distinguished career in the military. He rose to the rank of a Major General during his career, and was even honored with several awards, including the Iron Cross and the Wound Badge. During the Second World War, Fegelein served as an adjutant to Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, leader of the Nazi party Air Forces. In April 1945, Fegelein was arrested and placed into custody of the SS, as he tried to flee Berlin. He died mysteriously in prison the same day. Fegelein will be remembered for his distinguished career in the military and for his loyalty to the Nazi party. He is survived by his wife, Gretl Braun, and his two sons, Borghild Fegelein and Heinrich Fegelein.
