He was respected by his peers and greatly admired by his soldiers. He later worked in the oil industry for many years, where he held several positions of responsibility and prestige. Sobel is survived by his family, including his three children: Adam Sobel, Edwin Sobel and Olivia Sobel. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends, who will remember him for his work ethic, his loyalty, and his courageous spirit.
