Henry Ford II, a proud and successful business executive, passed away on September 29th, 1987 at the age of 70. Born on September 4th, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan, Henry was the son of Edsel Ford and grandson of the legendary Henry Ford. He grew up in an environment of wealth and privilege, but inherited a keen understanding of business from his father and grandfather. During his distinguished career, Henry served as president of the Ford Motor Company, chairman of the board of directors, and eventually became CEO. He was responsible for many innovations that changed the face of the industry and set Ford Motor Company on a path of success. His management style brought a level of discipline and organization to the company. During his tenure at Ford, Henry also formed successful partnerships with many of the other major automakers, including General Motors, Chrysler, Nissan, and Volkswagen. This gave the company an even broader reach in the marketplace. It was during these years that Henry was proud to see the Ford Mustang become an iconic vehicle in American culture. Henry’s success with the Ford brand led to him becoming one of the most respected executives in the auto industry. Henry leaves behind a legacy of success and innovation that will never be forgotten.
