Henry Ford, one of America's most iconic innovators, passed away on April 7th, 1947 at the age of 83. Born on July 30th, 1863 in Dearborn, Michigan, Henry Ford was an entrepreneur and engineer most notably known for his magnificent contributions to the founding and development of the American automobile industry. After starting the Ford Motor Company in 1903, he was soon revolutionizing the automobile industry, producing a new design which allowed his cars to become the first mass produced vehicle. His car, the Model T, was more affordable and efficient than ever before, and was retailed at a price far lower than competing models. Ford also pushed the boundaries of technology, introducing assembly line production to the automobile industry as well as experimenting with new power sources, such as soybeans. Ford's accomplishments were celebrated and praised throughout his lifetime. He was both hailed as a symbol of industrial progress and success and criticized for his controversial views on politics and labor unions. He was an emblem of the American dream, inspiring millions to pursue their innovative vision. Henry Ford is remembered throughout history for revolutionizing the U.S. auto industry and breaking ground for technological advancement. He will be deeply missed.
