Henrik, Prince Consort of Denmark, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on February 13, 2018. Born in France in 1934, he attended and graduated from the École des Sciences Politiques. He was married to Queen Margrethe II of Denmark in 1967 and acted in the capacity of prince consort until his death. In addition to his role as consort, Henrik was known for his contributions to Danish culture and the arts, primarily in the form of his poetry and musical composition. He achieved renown for founding the Terra Foundation for American Art in 2010, and served as President of the International Association of Art Critics. He is survived by his wife and two children, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim.
