On 1894-01-01 00:00:00 UTC, Heinrich Rudolf Hertz passed away at the age of 36. He was a German physicist who made significant advances in the fields of electromagnetism and optics. During his lifetime, Hertz researched the properties of electric waves and became the first to demonstrate their existence. His groundbreaking studies led to the development of wireless communication technologies and other innovative applications. In recognition for his pioneering work, the hertz (Hz) unit is named after him. He also discovered the photoelectric effect and established the laws of electromagnetic radiation. Hertz wrote numerous papers and books on his findings in different areas of physics. He also gave lectures and taught courses at the University of Kiel and the University of Berlin. His legacy lives on in a variety of ways, from research honing in on his discoveries to everyday communication technologies.
