Today, Japan mourns the passing of Haruma Miura, actor, singer and model. Haruma was born on April 5, 1990 in Tokyo, Japan. An active child, Haruma was on the swim team in elementary school before discovering his passion for the performing arts. He made his debut at the age of 8, acting in the NHK drama 'Agri'. He later worked as a model in print ads and made additional television appearances on numerous productions including 'Operation Love', 'Bloody Monday' and '13 Assassins'. Haruma's music career also started to take off with the release of his debut single in 2009. His subsequent singles included 'Bokura no Kisetsu' and 'Dynamite' - the latter earning him the Best New Artist award at the 50th edition of the Japan Record Awards. Haruma most recently starred in the 2018 drama 'A Girl & Three Sweethearts'.His most famous role, however, was that of Kenshin Himura in 'Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno' and 'Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends'. He consecutively received the Best Actor Awards at New York Asian Film Festival for both of these films. Haruma passed away on July 18, 2020, at the age of 30. He will be remembered for his talent and remembered by fans all around the world.
