On January 22, 2021, Hank Aaron passed away at age 86. Aaron is remembered for his 23-time All-Star appearances as a Major League Baseball player and his Hall of Fame career. He was nicknamed "Hammerin' Hank" and "Bad Henry" for his hitting prowess. When Aaron retired in 1976, he held Major League Baseball's all-time record for career home runs (755), RBIs (2,297), and total bases (6,856). His records stood until 2007. Aaron was an integral part of the Atlanta Braves organization for more than three decades, where he was also a senior vice president. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. Away from the field, Aaron was known for his work as a civil rights advocate and philanthropy. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 2002. Aaron leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations of baseball players and fans alike.
