Howard Philips Lovecraft passed away on March 15th, 1937 at the age of 46. He was an American author and founder of the subgenre of horror known as cosmic horror. Lovecraft's works were highly influential in the horror and fantasy genres, and propelled a worldwide cult following of readers. He wrote numerous short stories, novellas, and poems throughout his career, and is known for titles such as "The Call of Cthulhu" and "At the Mountains of Madness". Lovecraft was also an avid amateur astronomer and spent many nights observing the night skies in his hometown of Providence, Rhode Island. He has left behind a legacy of literature that shall be remembered for years to come.
