On October 4th, 1989, Graham Chapman passed away at the age of 48. A highly accomplished comedy writer, actor, author and medical doctor, Chapman was best-known for being a founding member of the sketch comedy group Monty Python’s Flying Circus, as well as his contributions to The Holy Grail, Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life. Chapman had a long and successful career, appearing in numerous television series and films, and publishing several books. His roles were often marked by his deadpan delivery and absurdist off-the-wall characters, earning him immense fame and numerous honors throughout his career. He will be remembered for the contributions and influence that he made within the comedy industry, having forever changed the way we experience laughter. Chapman leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for years to come.
