Garry Shandling, beloved television writer, actor, producer, stand-up comedian, and host, passed away peacefully on 2016-03-24 at the age of 66. Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1949, Garry Shandling was a successful writer for several popular television series before launching his own show, “It’s Garry Shandling Show” in 1986. The show, which earned two Emmy Awards, ran for four successful seasons. After that, Shandling starred in two more successful series, “The Larry Sanders Show” and “Garry Shandling Show.” Throughout his impressive career, Shandling earned numerous awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and an American Comedy Award for Funniest Male Performance in a TV Series. In 2000, Shandling received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Garry Shandling will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans. He was a true comedic trailblazer who always brought laughter and joy to those around him.
