Gaëtan Dugas, member of an established family of Moncton, passed away at 31 years old on March 30th, 1984. From an early age, Gaëtan Dugas was passionate about travel, culture and the arts. He trained the mime Marcel Marceau for two years in Paris and worked as a flight attendant with Air Canada for eight years after that. During his life, he was known for his passionate and independent spirit, which drove him to explore the world. He traveled to Africa and throughout Europe, providing aid and assistance to those less fortunate. Gaëtan was also deeply interested in social issues and in the LGBTQ community, being an activist himself. Gaëtan left behind a vibrant and loving network of friends, his parents and his sisters. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in those who knew him.
