G. Gordon Liddy, a disgraced yet influential figure in American history, passed away at the age of 90 on March 30th 2021. Born George Gordon Battle Liddy on November 30th 1930, Liddy was a lawyer, writer and decorated U.S. Army veteran. He is also remembered for his infamous involvement in the 1972 Watergate scandal, in which he helped orchestrate the break-in of the Democratic National Headquaters in Washington, DC. In 1973, Liddy was convicted of conspiracy, burglary and illegal wiretapping and was sentenced to between 20 years and 8 months to 20 years in prison by U.S. District Judge wexford. He served a total of four and a half years in prison, after which time he became a divisive public figure. In the years following his release, he became a conservative radio talk show host and made frequent appearances on late night talk shows and news media outlets to defend the Nixon Whitehouse. He also wrote books, most notably a memoir of his time in prison titled, "Will". Liddy passed away at his home in Fairfax County, Virginia of heart failure. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Ann. He is remembered by his four children, George Stephen Liddy, Alexandra Liddy Bourne, Thomas Michael Liddy, and James Gordon Liddy.
